Becoming the master of our minds-Let Go!

Something that I’ve done my whole life, and I know that we all do subconsciously as humans is DWELLING. Now there is a huge difference between letting go of our past while having faith in our future vs. dwelling on our past and therefore dwelling and anticipating the future. There is also a huge difference between dwelling on future events and what COULD BE vs. having faith in the future and having faith that God is with you.
Often times we fear our future because of our past. We have seen the mistakes we or others have made in the past and therefore we dwell on the future; the mistakes that could be made, the things we could/should do better, the “what if’s, and’s or but’s”. Now even though those concerns may be a righteous desire, HOPING you will do better in the future, I still don’t believe that God wants us to be only HOPING to do better: I think God wants us to KNOW that we CAN do better, simply because He is with us, for that is His very nature. God wants us to have faith in Him NOW. He wants us to stop wondering how the future will turn out, why certain things happened the way they did, if things could have turn out differently… etc. He wants us to forget ourselves, our thought and our worries, anything that may burden us and hold us back from moving forward, so that we can know that the future is bright and that we can enjoy today because He is with us. I know with all my heart this is exactly why God wants us to have faith in Him now, so that we do not have to be left wondering how thing will turn out. As much as God wants us to do good and to succeed, He wants us to enjoy life and enjoy the here and now. He wants us to give to Him our thoughts that concern us, make us anxious, that leave us wondering… etc so they do not burden us and replace our thoughts of faith and joy. Give those thoughts to Him and move forward with faith. I love the prophets quote “The future is as bright as our faith.” How true that is. Don’t fear the future, but have faith that God is with you now, as He has promised us several times in the bible, and through modern day prophets and leaders, “I am with you, even until the end”. Trust this, have faith in this, and enjoy the experiences and lessons that He has for you today. Let Go! Enjoy life through your faith in God, don’t endure it on your own!

“Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured”
~Gordon B. Hinkley

Giving your burdening thoughts to God, replacing them with faith in His companionship and love, is how you will enjoy life!

It's all because of love!

Now I don't have pictures, and my blog may not look the part as others do, but rather I started a blog because I feel the lessons I have been learning could benefit others if I share them. There are many days where I feel the need uplift others through words of love and encouragement, and today, the one thing I wish to share with you all this day is that we are not alone in ANY task of this earthly life. If you know you are a child of God, this knowledge is a ticket to receive access to His help, His love, His power at anytime you should seek it. As I am human, I do know that life at times can feel so overwhelming and daunting as days go on with accumulation of the many things we want, need, and should be doing. I can promise you that when God asks or requires something of us, that we are not alone. God expects us to become perfect, to follow His commandments, to trust Him, come unto Him… etc, which to me has often felt nothing but overwhelming throughout my life,]… until finally, I felt God teach me something that has truly changed my life. In the LDS hymn, "I'll go where you want me to go" there is a phrase in it that says "But if by a still small voice He (God) calls to paths that I do no know, I'll answer dear Lord with my hand in Thine, I'll go where you want me to go." For my whole life I feel that what I have most often focussed on are the many things that God requires of me, leaving out completely the most important part of the song, "WITH MY HAND IN THINE, I'll go where you want me to go". If you feel afraid, hurt, scared, uneasy…etc and you find yourself dwelling often on these negative thoughts, then take a step back my friends and find His hand which will lead, love and guide you throughout the process. It is not up to us to do everything on our own, but it is up to us to seek Him for help and to be continually relying on Him for the strength to accomplish the many tasks of life. Just as much as He does ask us to do things, He also requires us to seek him to accomplish His will. He will get us through it! God is not one who asks something of us and leaves us alone to the task, but is here to teach us when we have questions, to guide us when we fall, and most importantly to love us when we return to Him over and over again. Through my experience I can promise you that as you rely on Him through ALL things and not just when you need His help, that you will become someone much better and happier than you could ever make of yourself. God has seen who we were, loves us as we are now, and continues to love us because He knows who we can become, and it is up to us to rely on Him to become that person.
God is a good god, and I promise you that the more you rely on Him for His love, you will find nothing but peace and joy in this life, for the life to come and you will come to know better the very God who created you and everything around you. God is not a God of fear, vengeance, and disgust, but is only here to love us through our weaknesses and to love us back to Him. That is the only way He does it; through love. It is through that love that I am happy today. It is through that love that I will be happy in the future and, if I choose, as well throughout eternity. It is through that love that I have seen lives change, and through that love that I have changed. That is the only way that God works is through love, and I promise you can all know of this love if you simply ask. If you desire it, I promise you will receive it. I don't know a lot when it comes to life and the many things of this world, but I am grateful to know the first and most important thing- God is real, Jesus Christ is His son, and they love me PERFECTLY. This knowledge has changed my life and I hope you seek this knowledge that will do the same for you. I love you all, that is why I write this message. I want you to find the peace, happiness, and confidence I have been blessed to find through my Creator, Saviour, and my best friend. Please seek Him first to know Him, and don't let others shake the love you find. I love you all, best wishes. The future is good, because God loves us.
